Homelessness

Becoming homeless is a very difficult and stressful time.

Your local authority offers expert advice and help based on your own circumstances. This includes a decision on whether you are homeless, as Dumfries & Galloway Council have the statutory responsibility to assess homelessness.

Dumfries & Galloway Council can also offer temporary accommodation if they consider this to be appropriate.

Once your homeless status is confirmed by Dumfries & Galloway Council, applications for housing are considered by social landlords.

Homes4D&G’s social landlords include:

  • Wheatley Homes South
  • Cunninghame Housing Association
  • Home Group
  • Riverside
